Governor Kemp announced the formation of a new broadband provider in Middle Georgia, Tri-CoGo, which will provide high-speed internet service to 22,000 homes and businesses in eight counties including Baldwin, Bibb, Jasper, Jones, Morgan, Putnam, Twiggs and Wilkinson. Members of the Foundation Board were selected because of their leadership and involvement in their community, making them uniquely knowledgeable of the needs of all of the communities served by Tri-County EMC. Due to a limited amount of funds each quarter, the board gives priority to applications for basic needs, such as food, clothing, shelter or medical needs. Appointed by Tri-County EMC's Board of Directors, this group of nine board members determine, by objectively reviewing applications and considering available funds, which community needs or projects are funded. These organizations can also apply on behalf of individuals residing within the eight-county service area. ![]() Organizations can apply to the foundation's nine-member board of directors, who award funds quarterly based on the worthiness of each application and available funds. Since Operation Roundup contributions are tax deductible, on both the December and following January bills of each year, a total annual contribution amount will be provided for your tax records.Ĭharitable donations are made by the foundation to worthy projects and needs within the eight-county Tri-County EMC service area. On average, donations will be about $.50 per month or $6.00 per year. For example, a $75.45 electric bill would result in a total charge of $76.00 and a $.55 donation to the foundation fund. Contributions are made to the foundation when participants elect to have their monthly electric bill rounded up to the next dollar. Operation Roundup is a community development program funded by the voluntary contributions of Tri-County EMC's customers to the Tri-County EMC Foundation.
